Robert Comens land grants and plats, 1794.

This collection consists of land grants issued by the state of Georgia to Robert Comens, all for 1,000 acres in Montgomery County, Georgia. They are signed by George Mathews, Governor, and by the Secretary of the Executive Department and dated November 21, 1794. Most of them have attached plats and pendant seals. The papers are in poor condition.

Robert Flournoy (1763-1825) was born in Virginia. He married Mary Willis Cobb in 1794. Flournoy was a Captain in the 1st Georgia regiment of the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War.
